I had the pleasure of attending the liquor license review last night. Although there were many stupid arguments (for and against) I was pleased to hear some well thought out reasons for extending the hours.
It looks as the council is going to recommend for review an allowance up to 1 am for “Food Primary” establishments to serve liquor (regardless of location within in the city). Personally I would have liked to see the time extended to 2 am or even 3 am (I know thats a stretch). Those who already enjoy longer hours will be grandfathered in. All things considering this is a helluva a lot better than the midnight deadline instituted by the COV right now.
