December is a great month to take the leap, with hundreds of jobs available in the city and around the region

So, update your resumes and freshen up your letter if any of these workplaces catch your eye. Here are 10 places with some awesome gigs up for grabs this December.

Ski resorts

The three resorts are hiring for a wide variety of roles, and there’s a little something for everyone. Positions include food and beverage, mountain maintenance, electricians, and mechanics.

Whether you love the great outdoors or are ready to give your career a lift in a new direction, Vancouver’s ski resorts may just be the perfect place to apply.

Positions range from full-time to part-time, with some jobs paying up to $40+ an hour or a yearly salary, depending on the role.

The Brick

The Brick is a Canadian home furnishings retailer that is hiring a variety of in-store and customer support positions right now in Metro Vancouver.

YMCA

The YMCA offers a wealth of wellness programs for children, adolescents, and adults. If you enjoy an active lifestyle and think you’re good with kids, apply for one of the many positions the charity is currently hiring for.

The YMCA is hiring for dozens of jobs across Vancouver, from early childhood educators to before and after school care to health and fitness personal trainers.

AgeCare

AgeCare operates a wide range of retirement and nursing homes across British Columbia, Alberta, and Ontario.

It’s looking to hire 19 positions in Vancouver this December, including health care aides, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and more. Perks include group benefits, and the company says that more than 84 per cent of employees report high levels of job satisfaction and enjoyment.

Popular athletic apparel retailer lululemon is approaching 500 stores around the globe.

The company is hiring for over 120 positions in Vancouver, ranging from visual merchandisers to copy directors and data analysts. The brand says it is committed to work/life balance, and its positions come with extended health plans, paid time off, employee discounts, and fitness plans.

Government of Canada

Canada’s public service is made up of more than 200,000 employees and is the largest employer in the country.

The Government of Canada is hiring more than 70 positions in Vancouver this December, including administrative assistants, underwriters, technical specialists, and more.

Canadian Tire

Canadian Tire is one of the most recognized brands in Canada, and several jobs are available in its retail stores and automotive service centres. It’s hiring for over 20 roles around Metro Vancouver right now, from automotive technicians to customer service roles.

Canadian Tire offers competitive compensation packages, including benefits, the potential for profit sharing, extensive training, and career opportunities within and across the country at its retail stores.

United Way British Columbia

Mediacorp Canada Inc. recently revealed Canada’s top 100 employers for 2026, and United Way British Columbia was on that list.

This charity in Burnaby made the best employers list for its iVolunteer program, where employees get four paid volunteer days and are encouraged to donate their time to other charitable and non-profit initiatives.

United Way B.C. is hiring for positions that include a finance manager and a director of philanthropy, both based in Burnaby.
