A Vancouver Island woman who was photographing a pair of bald eagles last week had a close call with the birds after they got a little too up close and personal.

Lisa Bell was photographing the majestic birds near Bowser, BC, on Friday when the pair dove down and punctured her with their talons.

“The two eagles dropped down to leave their mark on me before taking to the skies again,” she said.

On Facebook, Bell said that she is experiencing some soreness but is otherwise OK.

“I just wasn’t expecting it to turn out like it did,” she said. “[One] second they were in the air and next second not.”
