The new year has just begun, and BC is already at the top of the list of the best destinations for world travellers in 2025.
Vancouver Island was the only Canadian destination on the list published by news outlet CNN, and only one of four North American places that it describes as “particularly worth visiting.”

“Wild, untamed landscapes and explosions of manicured blossoms are just some of Vancouver Island’s natural draws,” reads the article.
CNN highlighted several reasons why the largest island on the West Coast was on its list of top 25 destinations this year, including the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve and the “laidback towns” of Ucluelet and Tofino.
“They serve as jumping-off points for wildlife expeditions, rainforest hikes or braving the legendary surf,” the lists states of the towns.

Other spots that make Vancouver Island an attractive stop include Kingfisher Pacific Resort & Spa in Courtenay, The Butchart Gardens in Brentwood Bay, and a floating resort on Quait Bay, which is expected to reopen this June with a new name.
