Two Canadian lakes named the most beautiful places in the world

Canada is bursting with natural beauty, and two of its lakes were named two of the most beautiful places in the world in 2025.

The travel publication Condé Nast Traveler has released its list of 71 most beautiful places in the world in 2025, and it’s no surprise that a spot in British Columbia and Alberta made the cut.

Let’s take a peek at the lakes, which are both nestled in national parks, shall we?

Emerald Lake, British Columbia

A gem of British Columbia landed on the list, with Emerald Lake in Yoho National Park being touted as one of the Canadian Rockies’ “most recognizable landmarks.”

The huge mountain peaks of the nearby President Range also got a shoutout, with the lake’s clear glacial water being perfect for canoeing and a quick, brisk swim.

Yoho National Park has been getting some serious love heading into 2025 — Earlier this month, it was named a top travel destination.

Peyto Lake, Alberta

The publication called Peyto Lake in Banff National Park one of Canada’s “most beautiful and most-photographed lakes” thanks to its dazzling glacier waters and the chance to view it from Bow Summit, the highest point on the Icefields Parkway.

Other spots to make the list include Victoria Falls in Zambia and Zimbabwe, Valley of the Kings in Egypt, Shark Bay in Australia, and Paris in France.
