A new comedy extravaganza lights up Vancouver all month long

If you’re looking for a hilarious night out this month, then you need to check out a new comedy extravaganza that is taking over Vancouver all September long.
The inaugural Vancouver Is Funny, presented by MRG Live, runs from now until Tuesday, Sept. 30.
There are over 30 comics at over 30 live events to discover in the annual celebration of comedy, including stand-ups, podcasters, and more. And tickets are on sale now.

MRG Live said that the larger-scale live comedy celebration is the latest expansion of its growing comedy portfolio.
“Launching in Vancouver, the Is Funny brand is committed to bringing in-demand comedians to markets with a proven love of laughter, while continuing to support emerging talent and local producers,” said MRG Live in a release.

Sophie Buddle
There is some serious talent coming to Vancouver this month, including Canadian icon Rick Mercer, Gayle star Chris Fleming, and Juno Award winner Sophie Buddle.
Penn & Teller: Fool Us and America’s Got Talent alum Piff the Magic Dragon and Two Dykes and a Mic podcast hosts McKenzie Goodwin and Rachel Scanlon will also be performing at Vancouver Is Funny.
Comedy fans can catch all the action at several stages across the city, including MRG’s own Vogue Theatre, Biltmore Cabaret, slate. Event Space, and select independent venues. And if you’re looking for some more fun, slate. is transforming into a pop-up comedy club for the entire month.
