Downtown Vancouver inn and pub to close this week for boutique hotel conversion
It seems like just yesterday we received word that Doolin’s Irish Pub and neighbouring businesses, the Belmont Bar and Comfort Inn, were closing and the day is almost here.
All three businesses are officially shutting their doors on Thursday, November 1.

The businesses, located at 654 Nelson Street, will be shuttering in order to create space for a brand new boutique hotel.
The new hotel is being developed by Vancouver-based hospitality group Pacific Reach, who aim to create the city’s “first true lifestyle boutique property at the new Hotel Belmont.”
The building was first erected in 1912. Over the years it has housed the Hotel Belmont, the Nelson Place Hotel, and the Nelson Beer Parlour to name a few.
To celebrate its last hurrah, Doolin’s Irish Pub will be hosting a final Halloween party on October 31, the bar’s very last night of operation.
