One of Vancouver’s most expensive neighbourhoods has been named the most popular area for prospective homebuyers in 2018.

According to real estate listing website REW, Kitsilano was the number one choice, based on the average page views per listing.

“People often come to Kitsilano to experience its bohemian atmosphere but fall in love with it for its heritage homes and endless coastlines,” explains REW. In 2017, the number one choice was deemed to be Mount Pleasant West.

Analysts with the company also noted that the Fairview area saw the largest growth with a 19% year-over-year increase in the median list price. Demand for Fairview “has created more multi-family housing, while the number of detached homes has decreased.”

Overall, the most common type of housing being searched within the city of Vancouver was a three-bedroom house priced between $1.25 million and $1.5 million.
