The busy summer travel season is upon us, and Canadian travellers who are sticking closer to home are choosing Vancouver as one of their top destinations.
That’s according to a new report by online travel agency Kayak, which listed Vancouver as the top city in the country about which Canadians are searching for travel information.
Vancouver was the second most popular destination that travellers are interested in, just behind Paris in first place and ahead of London in third place.
The city was also named one of the top cheap summer getaways under $500, which Kayak says is attractive at a time when Canadians are paying more to travel.

“Travel is still going strong this summer, with flight interest holding steady,” said Kayak in its annual Travel Check-In: Summer 2026 report.
“And while prices are higher, there are still plenty of opportunities to save if you know where to look.”
Two other Canadian cities cracked the top five most popular summer destinations for Canadians: Toronto in fourth place and Calgary in fifth.
Vancouver was joined by Kelowna and Victoria on the summer’s cheapest getaways under $500 list.
