North Vancouver’s newest attraction for adventure seekers is open at Grouse Mountain, and the Gravity Coaster is ready to serve up fresh air thrills.
Guests of all ages were able to hop aboard to try out the ride for the first time on Wednesday, May 20.

“We are incredibly excited to have this new attraction at Grouse,” said Adam Rootman, senior director of marketing and communications, to Daily Hive.
“It’s a great opportunity for locals and tourists to experience some new thrills and epic views.”
The resort announced the gravity-fed mountain coaster as an annual seasonal attraction in 2024, with the construction on the coaster first beginning in 2023.
Aquatic Development Group designed and manufactured the Grouse Gravity Coaster, which was built with support from North Construction. The environmental study for the attraction, including a slope stability study, was completed by BA Blackwell.

“We wanted to add to our year-round activities,” added Rootman. “Our sister resort at Revelstoke has two coasters, and they have been very successful.
Grouse Mountain’s permanent coaster spans a track length of 1,434 metres (4,700 ft.) on a downhill descent of 919 metres (3,015 ft.) and a vertical drop of 91 metres (298.5 ft.).
The Grouse Gravity Coaster is located to the skiers’ left of The Cut, weaving through a series of trees and twists before enjoying a view of the city below. Riders will be able to reach speeds up to 45 km/hr (28 m/hr).
Sections of the coaster, which is a permanent structure, include “Nose Dive,” “Tailspin,” and “The Chimney.” Its ascent of 515 metres (1,700 ft.) returns the riders to the mountaintop without having to exit the ride vehicle.
