Vancouver forecast stays wet to start the week, but sunshine on the way | Daily Hive

The last week of July continues a recent cool temperature trend in the region, but the Vancouver forecast will soon become warmer and drier as the new month approaches.

Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) is calling for a chance of showers throughout Metro Vancouver on Monday, July 27 and Tuesday, July 28.

According to ECCC meteorologist Jennifer Kohl, a low-pressure system that has been swirling offshore for the past few days is slowly moving inland over the next 48 hours.

“The trough is sweeping across the region today and tomorrow, which is bringing in more showery weather,” said Kohl.

“However, any sort of rain we can get is good overall to help refill reservoirs and keep any drought at bay.”

ECCC is forecasting temperatures to hover around seasonal averages for much of the week ahead.

“It’s really only been cold for a few days,” added Kohl. “The seasonal high for this time of year is 23 degrees, and we’re only about one or two degrees below that.”

Temperatures in the Vancouver forecast are hovering between 21°C and 23°C for the next seven days.

In addition to a chance of showers to start the week, ECCC is calling for winds gusting up to 30 km an hour on Monday night, and up to 40 km an hour on Tuesday morning.

The weather overnight is expected to stay mostly clear with only a chance of showers on Monday, with lows dipping between 13°C and 15°C.

Kohl also shared that a shift to drier, warmer temperatures is on the way for Vancouver.
