Daily Hive got a chance to catch up with the co-founder of Fitplan, Landon Hamilton, to learn more about Fitplan and what’s in store for the popular app.

Daily Hive: First off, can you tell us a bit more about the Fitplan app and how it helps people achieve their fitness goals?

Landon Hamilton: Fitplan is the only digital resource connecting people with the personal training methods of the world’s most inspiring fitness influencers.

We are committed to making the strategy of fitness easy by collaborating with our Trainers to produce workouts with step-by-step HD video instruction. Subscribers can learn proper form, get guidance on reps and weights, track their daily progress, and gain the confidence to use equipment they may have never used before.

DH: Fitplan just received a huge amount of funding. Can you explain the steps leading up to this? What did your team have to do to make this happen?

LH: We are thrilled to be backed by such a great group of VCs that have built some of the top digital consumer and media brands in the world.

After several years working with a lean, yet extremely talented and dedicated team, we built a product that VCs saw potential in. In a quickly changing industry, they saw a product that was drastically changing human behaviour and a team that demonstrates unwavering ambition in pursuit of our mission.

As a team, we are made up of fitness enthusiasts with a deep insight into the holes in the market, the needs of our consumer, and the dynamic role of social media. We remain very focused on the execution of helping our subscribers reach their fitness goals, and at this stage, we’re excited to bring what we do to a bigger community.

DH: How will the company be using the funding?

LH: We have some very exciting partnerships that we will be announcing before the end of the year. In addition to building out our roster of trainers, Fitplan will allocate the funds to further develop the product experience, grow its community and bring on more of the best talent in the fitness space. We will also expand our team through a number of new hires.

DH: What are the next steps for Fitplan? How do you want to expand/ improve the app?

LH: We are constantly working to improve the app, and are building out the product experience to include the next generation of the Fitplan community. My ultimate vision for Fitplan is to create the world’s largest interactive health and fitness community, and our next step toward that goal will be announced soon, so stay tuned.
