Vancouver Fireworks Permit, 2008

Dec 19 2017, 11:42 am

This year is the first year in which an individual will need a permit to light off fireworks at their home in Vancouver. The Urban Dweller has informed us that it takes 5 minutes to obtain a permit, Money J Skeets however, was unable to obtain one. We feel that is a good thing anyways. If you reside in Surrey or other suburbs sorry you aren’t legally allowed to purchase and light off fireworks.

Here are the steps in obtaining a fireworks permit as listed by the City Of Vancouver.

How to get a fireworks permit:

  • Go to the website vancouver.ca/fire and follow the directions or call 604.873.7593.
  • Permits are free, but you must successfully complete a fireworks safety test to acquire one.
  • You may get a permit anytime during the year.

Fireworks may only be purchased from October 25 to October 31. They may only be discharged on October 31.

  • You must show ID and your permit each time you purchase fireworks and carry both when you use fireworks.

Remember people don’t be an asshat when it comes to fireworks safety.
