Vancouver Police investigating fatal hit-and-runs including pedestrian who was hit twice

The Vancouver Police Department is investigating a string of hit-and-run incidents, including two that were fatal.

On Dec. 7, 2025, at 7:23 p.m., a 61-year-old was crossing the street mid-block at East Hastings and Dunlevy Avenue when two westbound vehicles hit him, resulting in his death. Only one driver stayed at the scene.

Police are now searching for a white Range Rover Evoque that fled the scene afterward.

“This vehicle likely sustained damage to the front fender or passenger-side mirror as a result of striking the pedestrian,” says Constable Megan Lui with the Vancouver Police Department, in an emailed release.

“If you’ve seen the vehicle, or know the whereabouts of the driver, we’re asking you to please call our investigators.”

This is the third unsolved hit-and-run that has happened in Vancouver since Nov.27.

A 40-year-old man was hit by a driver in East Vancouver on Nov. 27, who remains in the hospital in stable condition. VPD said the 40-year-old suffered “life-altering injuries” after being dragged by a vehicle, which is believed to be a 2010-2012 Acura RDX.

In a separate incident, an 81-year-old woman lost her life after she was hit in East Vancouver on Dec. 22. Police located and seized a vehicle in connection with the collision.

Anyone with information can call the VPD Collision Investigation Unit at 604-717-3012 or email vpdciu@vpd.ca.
