Free outdoor movies in Stanley Park – The Princess Bride

Free outdoor movies in Stanley Park (Fresh Air Cinema)

  • What: One of the most popular summertime events in the city is back as free outdoor movies return to Stanley Park this summer for its 10th anniversary! The Evo Summer Cinema Series features a four-story inflatable movie screen showing film classics and modern blockbusters. Please bring your own blankets and/or lawn chairs and, since it’s a family-friendly event, smoking or alcohol is not permitted. Moviegoers are encouraged to walk, take transit, or bike to Stanley Park for the shows  – there will be a bike valet service offered on site each night too.

Digital Dungeon and Dragons

2018 Canadian Transplant Games

  • What: Since 2000, the Canadian Transplant Games have been a showcase for transplant recipients from across the country to enjoy the competition and camaraderie while celebrating a second chance at life. The Canadian Transplant Games, held every two years, is a family-oriented event. In addition to the competition there are activities designed for family members and other supporters. These national games are Canada’s largest organ and tissue donation awareness event.

Latin Film Night with VIFF

  • What: Latincouver, in partnership with the Vancouver International Film Festival, the Consulate General of Mexico in Vancouver, and the Consulate General of Brazil in Vancouver, presents Latin American Film Night, a celebration of the Latin American film industry. Enjoy the evening with two films that celebrate Latin filmmaking. Films will have subtitles in English.

Starlight Theatre at Lansdowne Centre – The Greatest Showman

  • What: Take a trip back to the days of poodle-skirts, greased hair, and doo-wop music – the Drive-In Movie Series returns to Lansdowne Centre for its third year, presented by Fresh Air Cinema. Enjoy classic, family-friendly, and even some of the latest hits on an outdoor screen. Take a drive and cuddle up, or bring a blanket and lawn chair and settle in. Parking is on a first-come, first-served basis (first 200 vehicles), and the movie audio will be broadcast over FM radio. Keep in mind that this is a family-friendly event, so smoking and alcohol are strictly prohibited.

  • What: Vancouver is getting a whole new free outdoor movie series as šxʷƛ̓ənəq Xwtl’e7énḵ Square (formerly Vancouver Art Gallery’s North Plaza) is set to play host to Summer Movie Nights on the Square. Each Wednesday evening from July 4 to August 29, Fresh Air Cinema’s large, four-storey inflatable screen will pop up, creating the perfect urban environment to take in a flick surrounded by the concrete jungle – just be sure to bring your lawn chairs and/or blankets.
