The 2018 Vancouver Job Fair

  • What: Presented by WorkBC Employment Centres and operated by YWCA Metro Vancouver, this is the fourth annual version of the event. Sixty locals employers will be attending the fair, in hopes of filling over 1500 positions – all varying in experience levels and covering careers in engineering, finance, retail, telecommunications, tourism, and tech. The event is free of charge, although anyone who wishes to attend is asked to register online.

DJ Pauly D

  • What: It’s time to get your GTL (gym, tan, laundry) on because Paul DelVecchio, much better known as DJ Pauly D, will be paying a visit to Venue Nightclub this fall. The 37-year-old is best known for his role on the infamous reality show, Jersey Shore. He was also the first member of the cast to receive his own spin-off show, the Pauly D Project.

Tasting Plates Vancouver Vegetarian Tour

  • What: Taking place in downtown Vancouver, this is the first all Vegetarian Tasting Plates tour. Downtown restaurants will offer vegetarian tasting plates of their dishes and drinks to the guests, thereby showcasing their restaurant and promoting their food and chefs.

Burnaby Community Dialogues

  • What: The Burnaby Taskforce on Homelessness and other community members welcomes you to an open and inclusive time for dialogue and learning on the overdose and opioid crisis in the municipality of Burnaby. Registration is free but sign-up soon since seating is limited. There will be be free food and drink served in the first half-hour. Child-minding will be provided. Naxolone training is also offered.

Passions 2018 Gala

  • What: Vancouver foodies can sample culinary creations from the city’s top restaurants, bakeries and caterers alongside wines hailing from New Zealand at the 2018 edition of the annual Passions Gala in support of the Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation. This year’s list of participating restaurants includes Boulevard Kitchen and Oyster Bar, Joe Fortes, CinCin and Maenam. The elegant fundraising event takes place at Performance Works on Granville Island.

Free to Move BC

  • What: Hosted by Diabetes Canada, Free to Move is an awesome BC-wide workplace wellness day that encourages employees from all industries to put their health first and get out of the office. A $10 donation is all you need to get started and then get moving. You can get active as a team, with a partner, or do it solo. Each participant will receive a campaign wristband. When you show it at any of the Perks Partner locations, you’ll be granted complimentary or discounted access at SoulCycle Yaletown, YYoga, The Juice Truck, and more — some studios are even offering perks the whole week.
