What: Watch the Olympic Caldron be relit in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the start of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. The relighting will happen at 8:45 am on February 12 at Jack Poole Plaza.

Vancouver Canucks vs Chicago Blackhawks

What: Vancouver Canucks face off with Chicago Blackhawks in NHL action at Rogers Arena. The team will also be hosting the Sedins’ jersey retirement celebration on February 12, before the game.

Fans will be able to enter Rogers Arena at 4:30 pm — well ahead of usual — and enjoy a free Budweiser in a limited edition Sedin twin can (non-alcoholic options also available). Special Sedin Night t-shirts and game night magazines will also be handed out to fans.

Storytelling with Data: Making an Impact with Data Visualization

Head to Brainstation as Data Scientists and Information Designers share their experiences, and explain how getting comfortable with data is the first step to effective visualization, mastering analysis, and organizing data in ways that enhance creative storytelling. There will be a discussion on how visual and verbal elements can create a more digestible and appealing experience for data novices, and unpack the stories, people, and ideas behind the numbers.
