Starlight Theatre at Lansdowne Centre – Black Panther

Marvels’ Black Panther/Netflix Canada

  • What: The Drive-In Movie Series returns to Lansdowne Centre for its third year, presented by Fresh Air Cinema. Enjoy Black Panther on an outdoor screen. Take a drive and cuddle up, or bring a blanket and lawn chair and settle in. Parking is on a first-come, first-served basis (first 200 vehicles), and the movie audio will be broadcast over FM radio. Keep in mind that this is a family-friendly event, so smoking and alcohol are strictly prohibited.

Hands-On Scientist – Spotting Spotted Owls

  • What: Delve into the secret lives of park plants and wildlife as local scientists share presentations and research techniques then guide a walk to investigate the topic of choice. Uncover the mystery of this disappearing bird with a specialist from the Northern Spotted Owl Breeding Program. Venture out into the evening to listen for calls and look for habitat. Ages 8+

Discovery Series: Career Fair and Lessons in Leadership with keynote speaker Karm Sumal, CEO and Co-Founder of Daily Hive

  • What: Make new connections, hear insights from accomplished industry leaders, and maybe even find your dream job. At this special event held in partnership with the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia, experienced professionals will share triumphs and key learnings from their career progression. Trapped in Space

  • What: Trapped in Space is a live improvised sci-fi following the crew of the SS Radikala. Five years into their adventures, the crew is trying to return from their mission to the Alchimia System. However, they find themselves out of fuel and stuck in distant orbit around a black hole. Then things started to get weird.

Maritime Movie in the Seine – Hook

  • What: Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site is celebrating the Summer of Wooden Boats with a free, family-friendly maritime movie in the historic Seine Net Loft building. Bring a blanket and enjoy a screening of Steven Spielberg’s classic film, Hook.
