2018 Vancouver Trans Day Of Remembrance
What: Commemorate the closing the Trans Week of Resilience with the annual Trans Day of Remembrance. Each year, hundreds of trans and gender nonconforming people are murdered, especially trans women of colour. The march and memorial seeks to bring attention to the violence faced by multiply marginalized trans people around the world, and to set intention in honouring their lives. Organized by the Vancouver Trans Day Of Remembrance collective.

BC Settlement and Integration Services Hiring Fair at Vancouver Public Library
What: S.U.C.C.E.S.S’ BC Settlement and Integration Services presents a Hiring Fair at Vancouver Public Library. More than 20 employers will be present at the event to hire for many full time and part time positions. Bring your resume and everyone is welcome.

A Deep Dive into the Biological Mysteries of Whales
What: UBC Professor Dr. Robert Shadwick discusses the vast array of research methods that are yielding insight into the wondrous inner workings of whales. This program is part of the Curiosities of the Natural World series in partnership with Dr. Robert Shadwick, UBC Public Scholars Initiative, UBC Let’s Talk Science and UBC Faculty of Science.

SFU Burnaby Book Sale
What: SFU’s United Way Book Sale is held annually every November. This year, all three campuses will be hosting a book sale (Burnaby, Surrey and Vancouver). It’s a great opportunity to get rid of used books, CDs, DVDs, LPs, new or used board games and puzzles (no magazines, encyclopedia or VHS tapes permitted).
