Waterfront Cinema at Canada Place – Top Gun

  • What: Each week at dusk, a large inflatable screen will pop up, creating the perfect environment to take in a flick under the stars, all with the North Shore mountains in the background. Feel the need for speed with Top Gun, and keep in mind that this is a family-friendly event so neither smoking nor alcohol are permitted.

Downtown Farmers’ Market

YA Summer Rendezvous

  • What: The much anticipated annual Young Associates Rendezvous on the Rooftop is back. On Thursday, July 26, enjoy an exciting evening of art and cocktails on the rooftop while networking with other young professionals and YA members. Immerse yourself within the world of Emily Carr and the forests of the West Coast.

BLAST OFF!

  • What:A commissioned musical, performed by the students of Gateway Academy’s MainStage Musical Theatre Camp. Infused with creative input from the cast, BLAST OFF! is an exploration in space, growing up and being a kid.

Big Chop Summer Paddle Series

  • What: Each race is an incredibly fun night of paddling and the Big Chop is open to all levels of paddlers. Choose between the 4 km Little Chop or the 8 km Big Chop and use the boat of your choice – kayak, outrigger, paddle board, surfski, dugout canoe, or rowboat. It just can’t have a motor. Rentals will be available and MEC runs introductory paddle clinics prior to every race.
  • When: Thursday, July 26, Thursday, August 9 and Thursday, August 23, 2018
  • Time: 7 pm race start
  • Where: Vanier Park – 1100 Chestnut St, Vancouver
  • Cost: $15 per race, $20 for the final race. Boat rentals is an additional cost.

5th Annual Free VMO Live Symphony – Outdoor Concert

  • What: A free, family-friendly summer evening of live music inspired by the classics and iconic pop culture. This summer evening event will be performed by the Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra, led by Maestro Kenneth Hsieh. Seating is first come, first serve, and audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for comfort.
