Science of Cocktails 2020

What: Science of Cocktails brings together the city’s most talented bartenders and chefs to showcase the chemistry, biology, and physics behind preparing modern cocktails and cuisine. Attendees will have access to the open bar with over 30 bar stations serving unique cocktails crafted by award-winning bartenders, access to special cocktail science activities, and hands-on demos and Science World programming.

SuperM: We Are the Future Live

SuperM/Live Nation

What: K-pop supergroup, SuperM is slated to perform live at Rogers Arena on February 6 during their We Are the Future Live. SuperM is made up of seven members: Taemin from SHINee, EXO’s Baekhyun and Kai, NCT 127’s Taeyong and Mark, and Ten and Lucas of Chinese band WayV. They have sold over 14 million adjusted albums globally and amassed almost four billion online video views in their respective musical careers.

Straight White Men

What: The Western Canadian debut of Straight White Men by Young Jean Lee. The first act of the performance is a satirical comedy, where three brothers returning home for the holidays are caught off guard by a shift in the family dynamic. The brothers are forced to examine the effects of traditional masculinity. The second act of the performance is a Talk Forward, with a different featured speaker giving their unique perspective on the topics in the show.

Dirty Betty Presents: Single Ladies Tour

What: The Dirty Betty Show celebrates Galentines Day at Yuk Yuk’s Vancouver. The comedy variety show features drag queens, stand-up comedians, improvisers, singers, and more.

Monday Nights

Monday Nights – PuSh Festival (Taku Kumabe)

What: Monday Nights by 6th Man Collective and The Theatre Centre is an interactive basketball and theatre mashup. The show tells the story of five men who played basketball together every Monday night for over a decade. Along the way, friendships were born, bonds were hardened, and triumphs and heartbreaks were shared. Attendees are invited to get on the court and learn some skills while experiencing the power of the game for themselves. All ages and skill levels are welcome.

What: Richmond Art Gallery hosts the book launch celebration of Adad Hannah’s The Decameron Retold. This publication is a behind the scenes look of Hannah’s 2019 community project and exhibition of the same name at Richmond Art Gallery. Books will be available for sale, and light refreshments and cash bar will be served.
