What: JFL Northwest, Vancouver’s very own Just For Laughs comedy festival, celebrates its fifth year from February 13 to 25, 2020. Rossini’s The Barber of Seville

What: The Barber of Seville by Rossini tells the tale of Figaro’s escapades as he helps Count Almaviva get Rosina away from her guardian, Dr. Bartolo. Ashlie Corcoran, Artistic Director of the Arts Club Theatre Company, and Canadian conductor Nathan Brock make their mainstage Vancouver Opera debut.

Straight White Men

What: The Western Canadian debut of Straight White Men by Young Jean Lee. The first act of the performance is a satirical comedy, where three brothers returning home for the holidays are caught off guard by a shift in the family dynamic. The brothers are forced to examine the effects of traditional masculinity. The second act of the performance is a Talk Forward, with a different featured speaker giving their unique perspective on the topics in the show.

Forget Me Not

What: Forget Me Not by Ronnie Burkett features 100 audience members each holding a unique puppet. The show is set in “The New Now,” a time when written language is suppressed and forgotten, and hand-drawn love letters are a powerful act of defiance. Presented by The Cultch.

Dinner With A View – Vancouver

What: Dinner With A View Vancouver starts when guests enter their assigned dome that’s been transformed into a terrarium with a distinct terrain: tundra, tropical, grasslands, etc. Each dome seats a minimum of four and a maximum of six people.

Inside guests will find luxurious pillows, blankets, and decor as they enjoy a three-course meal prepared by a celebrity chef. Diners can choose between blind menus, which will accommodate several different dietary restrictions including meals that can be made meat-, fish-, and vegan-centric.

What: CruiseyT, TFD Presents and Celebrities Nightclub presents The Search for Vancouver’s Next Drag Superstar 2020. The competition is hosted by Alma B Itches, and is showcase of drag performers from across Metro Vancouver.

Jewish Book Festival Closing Night – Mythical Creature – Jamie Bernstein & Singers

What: The 35th annual Cherie Smith JCC Jewish Book Festival celebrates its closing night with author, narrator, and filmmaker Jamie Bernstein. In her book, Famous Father Girl: A Memoir of Growing Up Bernstein, Bernstein shares a rare look at her father Leonard Bernstein around the centennial of his birth. Featuring live performances of Leonard Bernstein’s songs by Lindsay Warnock, Arielle Ballance, and Doug Gorkoff.
