What: Kicking off at 10 am on Bastille Day, you will be able to listen to free concerts the entire day (the festival ends at 9 pm), as well as see a free exhibition, experience an immersive light-art installation, visit booths with French products, and even enter raffles where you can win a free round-trip to Paris, as well as many other vouchers and French products. There will be a children’s section where kids will be able to partake in DIY activities, an origami workshop, a game of mini-table soccer, a treasure hunt, and a free storytelling workshop with a theatre company. Embrace your inner foodie at the food market, and enjoy some drinks at the beer garden. Then, make sure you head over to the Wine & Cheese Party starting at noon at the Exhibition Hall.

Armchair Conversation with Prime Minister Joe Clark

What: The Right Honourable Joe Clark was elected eight times to the House of Commons of Canada, serving as Canada’s youngest Prime Minister will elaborate on the connection between Vancouver and other global cities, specifically at the challenges facing our city and its promising future. He will also give his opinion on what might happen to Iran’s currency, and tell a few unpublished stories of his time in office.

2019 Canada Cup International Softball Championship

Hastings Crossing Business Improvement Association – The Truman Show Outdoor Movie

What: On July 14, the HxBIA will present a free screening of The Truman Show, which stars Jim Carrey as Truman Burbank, an insurance salesman who discovers his whole life is actually a reality TV show. The movie will begin at sunset, at approximately 9 pm in Victory Square, located at 200 West Hastings Street. Anyone planning to attend is advised to arrive early to get a good spot and bring a blanket or chair with them to sit on.
