Cuteness overload: Corgi Races are returning to Hastings Racecourse

Vancouver is sometimes referred to as the “no fun city,” but how could it be when some of the best racing events in the country take place here?

The second annual Corgi Races are happening at Hastings Racecourse on the weekend of June 22 and 23, and they are going to melt your heart. Most recently, the North Renfrew race track hosted the brilliant Bulldog Races, and now it’s time for the furry corgis to hit the ground running.

Each eager four-legged athlete will be competing for the prize of Hastings Top Dog, and one lucky dog will walk away with $500 in prize money and a Bosleys’ Doggy Prize Pack. So if you’ve been searching for the most heartwarming competitive sport to watch in Vancouver, this is it.

You can attend as a spectator for the weekend or register your dog to participate. Spaces fill up fast so be sure to register soon to give your dog the chance to compete!

But seeing Vancouver’s cutest corgis run isn’t all you’ll get to enjoy at Hastings Racecourse. Live horse racing kicks off at 1:50 pm so you get the best of both worlds as the racing stars alternate from horses to corgis and vice versa.

To make it better, admission to enter Hastings Racecourse is completely free. And with bets as low as $2, you can easily put down one or two. But don’t worry, you don’t need to know anything about dog (or horse) racing to do so!

The upcoming Corgi Races are taking place as part of the Hastings Racecourse Dog Days of Summer series, which will be followed by the iconic Wiener Dog Races on July 13 and 14. If you know a Dachshund that’s up for the challenge, make sure to sign them up on June 17 or afterwards.
