Artemis Space Adventure with LEGO Bricks
What: Science World invites guests to blast off in its latest feature exhibit, Artemis Space Adventure with LEGO Bricks.
Visitors will use LEGO bricks to imagine, design, and build their way through deep space challenges. There are also huge LEGO sculptures and workshop stations to inspire the creativity of explorers of all ages.

Orpheus
What: PuSh International Performing Arts Festival is back for another groundbreaking year this winter, and it promises a lineup of works for every type of live arts enthusiast.

NFL Football at PROLINE Sportsbook Lounge at Parq Casino Grand
What: Parq Casino is doing it up big for NFL Pick’em.

What: DanceHouse presents Recirquel’s Paradisum, which fuses circus, dance, and physical theatre by using the common language of movement to explore themes of renewal and connection in the face of an uncertain future.
Accompanied by a striking soundscape, six performers take the Vancouver Playhouse stage, embodying the overwhelming effort of existence in a post-apocalyptic world. Elements of stagecraft – a rippling black drape, a ladder, rings, a hoop – transform the stage into a living being, creating otherworldly vistas as the artists engage in breathtaking aerial work and choreography.

Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience in Vancouver

What: A stretch of Stanley Park’s towering trees will be infused with a touch of magic. After dusk, the forest will glow with an otherworldly trail where wands are welcome, creatures stir in the shadows, and Harry Potter’s Forbidden Forest is brought to life beneath Vancouver’s canopy.

Oshōgatsu – Japanese New Year Celebrations
What: Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre invites guests to begin 2026 with free Japanese New Year Celebrations. Guests can take part in free calligraphy lessons. You can also learn how to play Shogi, a popular mind sport from Japan, try Japanese tea, and join a free Hawaiian Hula dance class.

Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site
What: Those wanting to watch their spending this time of year, while discovering some amazing attractions and destinations near Vancouver, are in luck this year with the return of the Canada Strong Pass.
From now until Jan. 15, 2026, families can once again enjoy free and discounted access to parks, national galleries, museums, and even rail travel.

Canyon Lights at Capilano Suspension Bridge
What: Cross the world-famous bridge, lit end-to-end with a changing multi-colour display, and sway high above the illuminated Capilano River. Journey into a glittering rainforest and walk high above the forest floor on a transformed Treetops Adventure. Finally, walk along the sparkling cliffside pathway of Cliffwalk.
Don’t forget to snap an Instagram-worthy photo, sip a decadent hot chocolate to the sound of live festive tunes and get in on all the festive fun of the many children’s activities around the Park.

Dundarave Festival’s Forest of Miracles
What: The Dundarave Festival of Lights is the largest outdoor display of Christmas trees in British Columbia. Discover over 150 uniquely decorated trees covered in holiday lights and vote for your favourites in several categories, including Most Sustainable, Glitz & Glam, and Most Creative.
The Forest of Miracles is open to the public 24 hours a day until Jan. 7, 2026.

What: Yaletown has transformed into an immersive light gallery for the holiday season with Sonder: Life in Lights.
From now to Jan. 11, guests can explore a self-guided route through the Heritage District and discover a series of cinematic light projections designed in collaboration with acclaimed creative studio Best Coast.
Visitors can follow a self-guided route from Hamilton and Mainland all the way to the waterfront along Marinaside Crescent, where the reflections off the harbour make some of the projections feel especially magical. It’s free, open nightly at 5 p.m., and perfect for cozy holiday date nights or anyone looking to experience something magical in the city this season.

Britannia Mine Museum – Ores & Orcas
What: Britannia Mine Museum hosts Ores & Orcas – Howe Sound /Átl’ḵa7tsem: A Recovering Ecosystem until February 2026. Guests will be able to explore how copper contamination impacted the marine food chain from plankton to predators and discover how remediation efforts protect the important ecosystem.
The temporary exhibit also showcases specimens from the Howe Sound ecosystem, including the skeleton of a real killer whale.

Nature Work Parties

City of Surrey
What: Help remove invasive plants and clean up litter at various parks in Surrey this winter. Tools and training will be provided and all ages are welcome.
Nature Work Parties are drop-in, rain, or shine, though events may be cancelled in high winds or extreme weather conditions. Participants are also asked to wear appropriate clothing for outdoor winter activities.

Ice skating
Robson Square Ice Rink

What: The Robson Square Ice Rink will soon reopen for the new skating season, and all ages are invited to hit the ice during the holidays and into the new year.=
Located under the covered outdoor plaza at Robson Square, the rink operates seasonally when temperatures begin to dip.
The downtown Vancouver wintry tradition will kick off on Monday, Dec. 1 and will operate until the end of February. Over 100,000 skaters are expected to visit each year.

Surrey Civic Plaza Ice Rink
What: This is the first-ever activation of the public plaza in Surrey City Centre with an outdoor ice rink, and the City of Surrey is aiming to potentially turn this into a new annual civic tradition.
The ice rink spans an area of 4,000 sq. ft., with 5,000 gallons of water used to create the slick surface. Moreover, it is fully covered under a large tent, protecting it from inclement weather.

What: The City of North Vancouver’s free Shipyards Skate Plaza is open and skaters of all ages can glide on the approximately 12,000 sq. ft. surface daily from 12 to 8 p.m. Fun can be had no matter the weather – the Shipyards Skate Plaza is covered by a retractable roof.

H Tasting Lounge
What: Winterlust is once again taking over the stunning H Tasting Lounge’s patio. The event consists of five private translucent domes decorated with seasonal evergreen elements and Alpine-themed accents. Visitors will also enjoy views of the North Shore mountains and Coal Harbour.
Each dome can accommodate up to six guests and is fully equipped with heaters and fresh-air circulation to keep things nice and cozy. Additionally, each dome has an independent sound system so you can enjoy your own tunes while dining.

The Wedding Party
What: The Wedding Party, an immersive experience presented by Secret City Adventures, will take over Glowbal Restaurant in Downtown Vancouver starting Friday, Oct. 3.
