Fan Expo Vancouver 2026

What: Thousands of visitors are expected to flock to the three-day celebration at the Vancouver Convention Centre, drawing in fans of sci-fi, horror, comic books, and everyone in between.

The epic lineup of celebrity guests includes Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Billy Boyd, and Dominic Monaghan (The Lord of the Rings), Tom Welling and Kristin Kreuk (Smallville), Ron Perlman (Hellboy), and many more.

The cast of Twilight will also be doing a historic reunion while they are in Vancouver.

Surrey Civic Plaza Ice Rink

What: This is the first-ever activation of the public plaza in Surrey City Centre with an outdoor ice rink, and the City of Surrey is aiming to potentially turn this into a new annual civic tradition.

The ice rink spans an area of 4,000 sq. ft., with 5,000 gallons of water used to create the slick surface. Moreover, it is fully covered under a large tent, protecting it from inclement weather.

Warrior Festival

What: The Cultch’s second annual Warrior Festival celebrates the strength of women and gender-expansive artists with six funny and fierce shows this month at York Theatre, Historic Theatre, and Vancity Culture Lab.

This year’s festival includes Leah Shelton & Quiet RIOT’s Batshit (Feb. 11 to 15), Upu Collective’s Upu (Feb. 17 to 21), 2b Theatre Company’s Red Like Fruit (Feb. 18 to 22), the frank theatre company’s Tomboy (Chłopczyca) (March 4 to 8), The Search Party’s People, Places and Things (March 10 to 22), and Troupe Courage’s The Horse of Jenin (March 25 to 29).

Love Your City

What: Seventeen Business Improvement Associations (BIAs) of Vancouver have come together to help you show love to your city and to the many fantastic small businesses that make this place so amazing.

The annual February contest is all about love in Vancouver, BC. And this year, everyone is invited to rediscover and reconnect with the city by playing tourist for the month. So, get out those cameras, maps and passports and come fall in love with Vancouver all over again.

Along the way, maybe meet a new friend, call up someone to head to a neighbourhood with or text a friend who’s far away with a ‘wish you were here’. It’s all about reconnecting with the city and the people you love.

What: Just For Laughs Vancouver returns this February for a milestone year, and it’s bringing a bunch of hilarious acts to join the comedy celebration.

The 10th annual Just For Laughs (JFL) Vancouver will take place from Thursday, Feb. 12  to Sunday, Feb. 22.

Western Canada’s largest comedy festival will have lots to enjoy over the 10 hilarious days, including stand-up, sketch, magic, podcasts, and more.

Some of the acts include Taskmaster and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire star James Acaster, Dropout Improv starring several favourites from the hit comedy streaming service, Group Therapy and Elio star Atsuko Okatsuka, and Somebody Feed Phil‘s Phil Rosenthal.

After Dark: The Science of Love and Sex

What: The chemistry is off the charts at Science World for Valentine’s Day. Explore hands-on exhibits, test your knowledge of Sex Ed Trivia, and enjoy a live spectacle on poles that’s sure to get your heart racing.

LunarFest 2026 – Year of the Horse

What: LunarFest brings cultures and traditions together in a variety of events in February. Celebrate the Year of the Horse with performances, artist talks, film screenings and activities around Vancouver.

Make sure to also visit The Lantern City, returning to šxʷƛ̓ənəq Xwtl’e7énk Square, Pendulum Gallery, and Granville Island, 800 Robson St., and Bentall Centre.

Family Day Weekend at Grouse Mountain

What: Grouse Mountain invites all ages to enjoy its Family Day Weekend, where children ages 12 and under receive free mountain admission and lift tickets.

There will be daily family activities from Saturday to Monday, including crafts, owl talks, and a scavenger hunt with a prize draw entry. You can even go on family snowshoe tours (bookings required), and checkout the fireworks display on Saturday and Sunday at 6 p.m.

Other fun activities include a DJ skate party on Sunday from 2 to 7 p.m., an outdoor pancake breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m. by donation to Family Services of the North Shore, and a hockey shoot-out at the Mountaintop Skating Pond from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

What: Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet (RWB) presents a double bill of acclaimed favourite Carmina Burana, and the highly anticipated West Coast premiere of T’əl: The Wild Man of the Woods.

Carmina Burana combines bold, athletic movement with Carl Orff’s moving and evocative score for a visceral theatrical experience. This high-octane work demands everything of its dancers and leaves audiences exhilarated, moved, and inspired.

T’əl: The Wild Man of the Woods, created and choreographed by RWB School alumnus Cameron Fraser-Monroe, is a historic collaboration of Indigenous artists that blends storytelling, contemporary ballet, and classical music while honouring the richness of oral tradition. The work is narrated in both English and Ayajuthem by Elder Elsie Paul, and scored by Juno nominee Cris Derksen.

Burlesque Duos

What: Burlesque Duos is an annual East Vancouver Valentine’s Day tradition that celebrates partnership and creativity on the day of love. The event pairs up renowned burlesque dancers to perform memorable duets at the Rio Theatre.

Greater Vancouver Hot Chocolate Festival 2026

What: Taking place from Jan. 17 to Feb. 14, 100 vendors in the Greater Vancouver area will be serving up tasty and unique hot chocolate creations. There will be 100 participating vendors and a whopping total of 234 different flavours to try.

Previous years saw plenty of wacky and wonderful drinks like a hot chocolate with marinara sauce and Hot Cheetos, a Dragon Ball Z-themed drink, and even some hot chocolates that are illegal south of the border.

Whistler Winter Music Series

What: Season 2 of the Whistler Winter Music Series is going strong until the springtime, with a variety of concerts and venues perfect for epic après-ski vibes.

On Sunday, Feb. 15, UK DJ/Producer Chris Lorenzo is bringing his gritty yet modern set to Longhorns for an afternoon of ski boots, snow, champagne sprays, and dancing.

Saturday, Feb. 21, will feature It’s Murph, AKA Garrett Murphy. He’ll be taking over the GLC with a production of euphoric melodies, edgy basslines, and sonically expansive atmospheres.

ÆON:MODE, AKA JP Orchison, is bringing his Quantum Tour to Après Après for a special 360 set on Friday, Feb. 27.

And Eli Brown will also be making his Whistler debut at GLC on Friday, Feb. 27.

Lights at Lafarge

What: Lights at Lafarge, Metro Vancouver’s largest free outdoor winter lights display, is back again for another holiday season.

The annual tradition illuminates Lafarge Lake in Coquitlam throughout the season, with over 100,000 twinkling lights to enjoy until the end of February. Guests of all ages can explore the outdoor display that wraps its way entirely around the lake, leading them on a 1.2 km loop through themed zones.
