Vancouver police not buying driver’s excuse for driving with snow covered windshield

With snow blanketing the Lower Mainland this week, Vancouver Police are reminding drivers to clear the snow from their windshields – all of it.
The timely traffic tip comes in the form of a VPD tweet, that details a recent exchange between a motorist traffic control officer.
VPD OFFICER: Sir, you need to clear your windshield before you drive. You MUST have an unobstructed view of the roadway.
DRIVER: It’s ok officer, I raised up my seat so that I can see over the snow!
❌ NOT OK! The fines start at $81 if your windshield obstructs your vision. #VPD pic.twitter.com/pt9jycsqst— Vancouver Police (@VancouverPD) February 20, 2018
So in case you didn’t catch that–“unobstructed” means clearing all the snow, and you can be fined for failing to accomplish this.
And “raising your seat up” is not a substitute for doing so. Hopefully, this driver got the message, as more snow is in the forecast this week.
