Two Vancouver companies on 'Forbes' list of world's best employers

Forbes recently dropped its list of the world’s best employers in 2025, and some notable Vancouver companies made the list.

The magazine partnered with Statista, a market research firm, to take a look at companies across the globe and find out which ones are the best at supporting their employees.

They had the following three criteria: offering meaningful work, “top-tier” compensation, and training in new technologies and other things.

Forbes and Statista surveyed over 300,000 employees in over 50 countries, and the survey was independent of corporations so that participants were anonymous. Companies could partake if they employed over 1,000 people and operated globally.

In the survey, participants rated how likely they would recommend their employer to family and friends, then gave input on salary, career advancement opportunities, work-life balance, and company reputation.

In the end, 900 companies, with headquarters in 52 countries, made the list. Thirty have headquarters in Canadian cities.

In Vancouver, we are home to two of those companies: lululemon and Telus.

Lululemon ranked 239th on the list. The apparel company currently has dozens of jobs listed on its Careers page. They promise good benefits (including things like a monthly allocation of money for health goals and a fund to support employees in need).

This Vancouver-born company often makes “best employers” lists. Earlier this year, it was second on Time‘s list of Canada’s Best Companies of 2026. It was also on another Forbes list that ranked the best employers in Canada.

Telus ranked 723rd. The telecommunications company currently has 22 Vancouver-based jobs posted on its career page. They promise things like flexible work options, personalized benefits, and personalized coaching.

The top Canadian-headquartered companies on the list included Shopify (at number three), Desjardins (at 48), Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts (at 62), and Manulife (at 211).
