Trevor Noah Loud and Clear Tour

What: South African comedian and The Daily Show host Trevor Noah is coming to Vancouver as part of his 28-performance, North America-wide, Loud and Clear Tour. Noah is known around the world for his insightful and authentic take on politics and current events. In 2016, Noah released his first book Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood, which became an instant New York Times bestseller.

What: The Fictionals and Friends are celebrating Canada 152 at Cafe Deux Soleils with a special edition of Maple Magic Comedy. Improv X Canada will be inspired by the newsmakers, inventions, and history of this great country for a night of laughs. Plus take part in the trivia challenge for the chance to win some prizes.

Sean Devlin Live Comedy Album Recording

What: Vancouver-based comedian and filmmaker Sean Devlin is recording a comedy album on June 28 and June 29. As a stand up he has performed as an opening act for Hari Kondabolu, Aamer Rahman, Reggie Watts, Kyle Kinane and Tig Notaro – as well as musical acts Of Montreal and MGMT. Previous festival appearances include the Bumbershoot Music Festival, Bridgetown Comedy Festival, Sled Island and Just For Laughs Northwest. His comedy has also been featured on CBC Radio, Upworthy.com and in the CTV mini-mini series The Party. In 2018 the Director’s Guild of Canada presented Sean with the prize for Emerging Canadian Director at the 37th Vancouver International Film Festival for his feature film When The Storm Fades.

Improvised Firefly

What: Instant Theater presents the adventures of a rag-tag crew, inspired by the cult TV show, Firefly. Based off a single audience suggestion, the crew will head out in search of their next big score, while avoiding fellow criminals and the government alike, all so they can live to fight another day and hold onto their most precious possession of all: their freedom.
