Make your February a funny one! From JFL Northwest to LOL-apalooza and more, here are 10 great comedy events happening in Vancouver this month.

Pleasant Comedy

What: On the first Saturday of every month, Colin Sharp brings top touring comedians from Vancouver and across the country to Our Town in Mount Pleasant. This month’s headliner is Katie-Ellen Humphries from The Lady Show, CBC’s The Debaters, and JFL NorthWest. Also featuring Ivan Decker, Randee Neumeyer, Kody Audette, and Emma Cooper.

Shirley Gnome – Wise Lounge Residency

What: Shirley Gnome is an internationally acclaimed, multi-award winning musician/cabaret performer. She’s singing almost every Sunday of February at the Wise Lounge along with special guests. Be the first to hear songs from her upcoming album, along with old favourites.

When: Sunday, February 3, February 17 and February 24, 2019

Romance Week at Vancouver TheatreSports

What: Vancouver TheatreSports (VTS) presents the return of Romance Week, running from Tuesday, February 5 to Thursday, February 14 at The Improv Centre on Granville Island. Visitors can bring their special someone to VTS and enjoy three special shows over the 1o-day event: Love Matches, Love Unscripted, and Red Hot Improv. Romance Week ends with My Funny Valentine, which will be hosted by none other than Cupid and Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love.

Improv Against Humanity: Game Of Love

What: Looking for love in a Horrible place? Join The Fictionals for Improv Against Humanity: Game of Love at the Rio Theatre. Featuring award-winning comedy, a live CAH game show, chocolaty prizes, and more. Plus someone will be crowned the next Most Horrible Person in Vancouver.

Craft Brew Comedy at Moody Ales

What: This edition of Craft Brew Comedy features national touring headliner James Kennedy (Calgary Comedy Festival, Pemberton Music Festival, JFL NorthWest, 2014 People’s Champ of Comedy, 2015 Yuk Off Winner), plus hilarious special guests. Presented by Tri-Cities Comedy and sponsored by Pomo Arts and Poco Arts.

JFL Northwest 2019

Straight to DVD: 2 Straight 2 DVD

What: A night filled with scenes from movies that do not exist. Comedians will perform their scenes in a rehearsal/table read hybrid, then pitch brand new movies as well as audition for a super serious one. Hosted by Christine Bortolin and Kyle Fines, with an all-new Drunk Movie Day episode exclusive to the show

A Night of Shticks & Giggles

LOL-apalooza

What: A comedy fundraiser for WE Villages, via International Conference Services (ICS), to benefit their project in Kanambu, Ecuador to construct a clean water system. Featuring stand-up sets from Yumi Nagashima and Steev Letts and a live musical set from Light Organ Records artist, Fake Shark.
