Vancouver's Catoro cat cafe is offering free visits to students this week
Catoro, Vancouver’s recently-opened, magical cat cafe, just got a little bit better.
This week, the forest-themed cafe is offering a student promotion. From Monday, September 23 to Friday, September 27, 2019, students will be given a free 15-minute session in the Cat Forest with the purchase of a drink.
The cafe, which is located at 666 E Broadway, consists of a cafe side and a cat-cuddling side — the latter of which requires an appointment.
Guests are given slippers once inside (no outside shoes allowed) and can calmly play with the cats once they’re brought in.
The space, which was designed by Imagination Corporation, includes a tall tree complete with cat cubbies, and plenty of cat toys, including balls and tubes.
In addition to serving up beverages, the cafe puts a heavy focus on its partnership with the Cat Therapy & Rescue Society, an organization that provides adoptable cats to PetSmart locations across the Lower Mainland.
After a visit, if a guest feels connected with one of the cats, they can apply to adopt them and become their new guardian!
The cafe aims to promote and improve human happiness, mental health, and creative expression within the community, and also has a “zero waste vision” which it plans to achieve by practicing sustainable practices around waste management.
Catoro’s student promotion will run from Monday, September 23 to Friday, September 27, 2019.
