If you’re going to be out and about on Canada Day in Metro Vancouver, you’ll want to dress and be prepared for some pretty warm weather.

With tens of thousands of people from all over the world expected to be in Vancouver this week, they certainly will be treated to the best weather you can get in the city, as long as you’re a fan of warmer summer conditions.

Earlier this month, we shared some information with you about the Canada Day Metro Vancouver weather forecast, which stated that temperatures would feel like 28˚C on July 1. Since then, the forecast has been revised, and it’ll be even warmer than predicted.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) forecasts, the humidex values indicate that temperatures will feel like 32˚C on Monday, June 30, and 30˚C on Canada Day.

For Tuesday, ECCC predicts a high of 23˚C or 28˚C inland, and a humidex of 26˚C but 30˚C inland.

The temperature is forecast to drop by about one degree on Wednesday, but humidex values, which haven’t been forecast yet, could still make things feel quite a bit warmer. After a slight cooldown throughout the week, ECCC forecasts another temperature increase next weekend. There isn’t a single drop of rain in the forecast over the next week.

The forecast is good news for those who plan to be out on July 1. It’s even better news for event organizers, as Canada Day events have been scheduled for practically every city in Metro Vancouver.

On that front, TransLink has a list of all the events scattered around Metro Vancouver, along with directions on how to travel to those events by transit.

The International Alcoholics Anonymous Convention also takes place this week, and visitors should have sunny skies all week long.
