After 40 years of serving its community in Kitsilano, a Vancouver bike store is closing its doors on 2nd Avenue.
Reckless Bike Store announced that it’s closing its location on 1810 Fir St., having opened the same year as Expo ’86.
“When we started, we had no idea that we would reach this milestone. We are one of only a handful of stores that have the same family ownership for over 40 years,” Reckless states on its website.
Thankfully, Reckless still operates another location in Yaletown that has been open for over 20 years. The last day of service for the Kits location is Sept. 15.
Reckless also says, “Don’t be sad!” about the Vancouver bike store location.
It adds that it will still sell, service, and rent out bikes at its Yaletown location. This is also a great opportunity for folks looking for new gear, as Reckless will be doing an inventory liquidation sale at its Yaletown location at 110 Davie St.
Anyone with a bike warranty, fret not; your warranties will be honoured at the Yaletown location.
Reckless also said, “We have enjoyed being part of your lives and the community for the past 40 years!”
Aside from the liquidation sale, Reckless is also holding a 40th anniversary sale, which will include deals of up to 40 per cent off.
Reckless states, “We have great deals on EVERYTHING!”
It adds that prices on the website do not reflect all the savings it is offering, and recommends coming in-store.
“The deals are so good we cannot advertise online!!”
