'Time' names notable Vancouver company among top 100 in the world

Time magazine recently released a list of the world’s top companies, and one company born right here in Vancouver was named in the top 100.

Any guesses?

If you guessed lululemon, ding ding ding.

The Canadian athletic apparel retailer is frequently named among the best companies in the world, and on this Time magazine list, it was ranked #84.

For the rest of the country, the TD Bank Group was the highest-ranked Canadian selection, coming in at #14. Manulife ranked #54, and Desjardins ranked #74.

Comically, a company that used to be a shining example of Canadian business, BlackBerry, also made the ranking, at #874. While the company no longer makes smartphones, it still offers cybersecurity enterprise solutions and software.

Time provided comprehensive information about the methodology it used to determine the best companies, and it sounds like employees were at the heart of it.

“The first dimension, Employee Satisfaction, was investigated based on survey data from a large sample of over 200,000 employees from around the world. The evaluation encompassed direct recommendations of verified employees as well as indirect evaluations from industry peers,” Time says.

Revenue growth was the second dimension, followed by sustainability transparency, which lululemon has worked to improve in recent years.

lululemon also recently launched a resale shop, so customers could purchase like-new items without spending their life savings.

“The 1,000 companies with the highest score were awarded as World’s Best Companies 2026 by Time and Statista,” Time says.

No other Vancouver company ranked among the top 100.

lululemon was also indirectly in the news recently, as its founder, Chip Wilson, was involved in a big life change.

According to Bloomberg, Wilson and his former spouse, Summer, have split, without a prenuptial agreement in place. The implications are interesting, and you can read about it on Daily Hive.
