Like New: lululemon’s resale shop has finally landed in Canada

Want to buy a pair of lululemon leggings without worrying about being able to afford groceries for the week? There’s now an option for Canadian shoppers that doesn’t involve waiting for a sale.
The Vancouver-founded athleisure giant has finally brought its Like New resale platform to Canada, giving shoppers a chance to buy gently used items for way less than the original retail price.
Shoppers can now buy — and sell — popular items like the Everywhere Belt Bag and Align leggings for up to 60 per cent off. New finds are added daily, the website states, so the selection can change quickly.
Lululemon says that since the program launched, it has kept more than 1.7 million pieces of gently used lululemon products “in action” and therefore out of landfills.
But despite being a Canadian name in the athleisure apparel world, lululemon first launched its Like New program in the U.S. on Earth Day in 2022, giving hundreds of thousands of items a second life among American shoppers.
Alas, Canadian shoppers can now get in on the resale action, too, and wow, are the savings huge.
A brand-new pair of women’s Chargefeel 3 Workout Shoes can cost $158 plus tax, while a slightly worn-in pair on the Like New site is just $82. That’s $76 of savings, which could go towards everyday essentials, which are already getting more expensive as the cost of living continues to rise across the country.
Canadians can also sell their beloved lululemon items to make extra money, too.
The brand’s website states that when you’re done with your lululemon gear, you can bring it into a participating store and get an e-gift card to use in-store or online.
Certain items like skorts, men’s shirts and tank tops can earn shoppers $5 in store credit, or between $10 and $20 through the mail-in option.
Items like hoodies, pants, leggings and large bags can earn $10 in-store credit, or up to $30 through the mail-in option. Used coats and jackets, meanwhile, can earn sellers between $20 and $75 through the mail-in option.
Despite thousands of items already listed on the Canadian Like New platform, one highly coveted item remains to be seen: The Big-Ass Bag, which has been taking over the internet in recent weeks. But who knows, maybe in a few months, these ludicrously capacious bags will start appearing on Like New, too.
And here’s something to sweeten the pot: Canadian shoppers can currently snag 15 per cent off Like New items with the promo code EXTRACREDIT. Visit lululemon’s Like New site and enjoy some guilt-free shopping.
