Vancouver's August forecast is out and the temperature is heating up | Daily Hive

The Vancouver forecast for August is out, and locals and visitors who love the warmth are in for a good time.

Environment and Climate Change (ECCC) is calling for periods of rain on Saturday, Aug. 1, with a daytime high of 20°C.

However, sunshine will return after the showers, with temperatures soon climbing towards 30°C inland for the first week of the new month.

“A cold front is moving in on Saturday, associated with a low-pressure system off of the Pacific that’s bringing in the showers,” explained ECCC meteorologist Terri Lang.

“Once Saturday is through, weather will be drier and warmer inland, away from the water.”

Lang added that temperatures for the first part of the month are staying within the seasonal range. However, things are expected to heat up in the near future.

“Looking at the overall forecast for the month, it is expected to be warmer than average for the Lower Mainland and much of B.C.,” shared the meteorologist.

ECCC’s Canadian Climate Normals data shows that the daily average temperature in August for Vancouver is 18.2°C. The month averages 36.1 mm of rainfall.

The Vancouver forecast for the first weekend of August is warm, with a daytime high of up to 20°C on Aug. 1 and 21°C on Aug. 2.

Pack an umbrella for Saturday as there will be periods of rain and wind, but things are expected to dry up by Sunday.

Overnight lows will continue to hover between 14°C and 15°C as we transition into the new month.

However, you can leave the rain jackets at home when we start the shortened work week, as temperatures will climb up to 22°C and 23°C in the city, and 26°C and 28°C inland by Wednesday, Aug. 5.
