Residents share their best "Vancouver as it gets" moments and we can all relate

Vancouver is one of the most popular cities to visit in the world, with year-round outdoor activities, numerous attractions to visit, and a mouthwatering food scene to discover.
But what makes a moment in the city uniquely Vancouver? What are the local occurrences that you won’t find anywhere else?
In a recent discussion on social media, residents shared their most “It’s as Vancouver as it gets” moment, and some of these are very relatable.
From local celebrity sightings to strange animal encounters, here are some of the ones that stand out to us.

The discussion kicked off with one Redditor sharing that they saw Ryan Reynolds in Kits eating sushi and then seeing Michael Buble at a Vancouver Canucks game the same day.
However, their star power can’t compare to a run-in with the city’s Roller Girl.

“Roller Girl yelled at me to vote for them,” added another commenter.
Vancouver also has a unique brand of drivers that isn’t seen anywhere else.
One Redditor said that seeing a Lamborghini with an N sticker on it was very Vancouver, while another commented that a Lambo with a massive ski box on the top gave them local vibes.
Teslas and Evos were also popular discussion points, with commenters saying they feel like they’re constantly surrounded by them.

Another popular point of discussion that residents brought up was the weather.
One Redditor said that folks walking in the rain without an umbrella was on point for Vancouver, while another responded that they didn’t need one because they had a “very good hood.”
Other users hinted that maybe the reason why people didn’t use umbrellas for the rain was because they were saving it for snowfall.
