Family Day is fast approaching, and if you have kids, this is a perfect day to get the family together and spend quality time. If you don’t have kids, it’s still a day-off when you get to go and have fun!
To brighten up your Family Day weekend, Vancouver Aquarium is hosting some super-fun events where you get to interact with some of the coolest and cutest sea creatures around. And if you have kids 12 and under, they get to explore the aquarium for FREE.
To make sure your visit goes as swimmingly as possible, here’s a round-up of what’s happening at the Vancouver Aquarium on Family Day weekend.

If you’ve always wanted to get up close and personal with some sea creatures, but didn’t know exactly how, we have just the event for you. During Family Day weekend, the Vancouver Aquarium will be hosting Story Time at 10:45 am in the Pacific Canada Pavilion. Get a close-up view of some of the halibut, crabs, and rockfish that call the Strait of Georgia home.
The Pavilion covers two levels of the aquarium and houses an incredible array of creatures. Get your phone ready for some adorable pics!
Talk turtles

Looking for a way to come out of your shell on Family Day weekend? There are better ways to spend the day than streaming TV, like attending Turtle Talks at the Aquarium from 11.30 am in the Tropic Zone.
They might take their time to get around but turtles sure are adorable. Get to know everything there is to know about these cute creatures. Shell yeah!
Peek at the penguins

If you think that watching penguins waddling around is the coolest thing ever, the aquarium’s Penguin Program is the event for you. You’ll get to meet one face-to-face at the Teck Engagement Gallery at 2:15 pm. We can’t think of anything more fascinating (or cute!).

If penguins, turtles, or big glass walls of sea life aren’t immersive enough for you, there are always more fish in the sea! Attend a 4D experience at Reef Reborn, an exclusive and exhilarating insight into the wonders of marine life.
You’ll feel like you’re swimming around IRL. Showings are on all day, every 30 minutes, starting at 11:45 am.

Details: Children 12 and under will receive free entry. Tickets available in-person only, not online or at the kiosks. Cannot combine with any other offer. Child must be accompanied by an adult. Maximum of 4 children per adult.
