Uniqlo flagship store to open at CF Pacific Centre in Downtown Vancouver

A decade after opening its first stores in Canada and Metro Vancouver, Japanese fast fashion giant Uniqlo is finally set to open a Downtown Vancouver location, taking over part of the former Nordstrom department store space at CF Pacific Centre mall.
Uniqlo Canada and Cadillac Fairview announced today that Uniqlo will open its Vancouver flagship store at CF Pacific Centre in Spring 2027, bringing its “signature LifeWear philosophy to the heart of the city.”

The store’s square footage was not disclosed, but the flagship designation typically signals a substantial retail footprint.
Its exact location within the former Nordstrom space is also not immediately clear. A highly conceptual artistic rendering appears to show a Granville Street entrance at the northeast corner of the building, facing the plaza where SkyTrain’s Vancouver City Centre Station has its street-level entrance. However, this appears to conflict with an earlier rendering showing part of the new Simons department store occupying the exact same area.

Like other flagship Uniqlo locations, the Vancouver flagship store will offer simple, high-quality, everyday clothing, with dedicated sections for men, women, kids, and babies, alongside special seasonal collaborations and graphic T-shirts.
“Vancouver is a global city with a distinct way of living: active, practical and design-driven,” said Yuya Tanahashi, the chief operating officer of Uniqlo Canada, in a statement today.
“This closely resonates with our LifeWear philosophy, which ensures our clothing improves everyday life for everyone. UNIQLO CF Pacific Centre puts us at the center of it all, and we’re excited to serve the people who live, work, and visit this beautiful city.”
Uniqlo joins Aritzia and Simons in taking over the 230,000 sq. ft., three-storey space that Nordstrom occupied until its withdrawal from Canada in June 2023. A fourth retailer has yet to be publicly announced for the remaining subdivided portion of this former Nordstrom space.
Aritzia was the first new tenant announced, in November 2025. Its flagship store will occupy 40,000 sq. ft. across four levels at the southwest corner of the former Nordstrom space, with a street-level entrance at the corner of the intersection of Robson Street and Howe Street (facing Robson Square) and another entrance from the underground mall level (replacing the previous Hugo Boss space). Scheduled to open sometime in 2027, the store will also feature a major in-store restaurant concept.
Simons was subsequently announced in April 2026, with plans to occupy 92,000 sq. ft. of the former Nordstrom space. Its second store in British Columbia — after Park Royal in West Vancouver — is scheduled to open in Fall 2027.
Uniqlo entered the Canadian market in September 2016 with the opening of its first store at CF Toronto Eaton Centre.
A year later, in September 2017, it opened its first Metro Vancouver location — a 21,000-sq.-ft. store at Burnaby’s Metropolis at Metrotown mall. That store expanded to 27,000 sq. ft. in 2022 and remains Uniqlo’s largest location in the region.
A decade after its Canadian debut, Uniqlo now operates 41 stores across the country.
Since opening in Burnaby, the chain has expanded across Metro Vancouver, adding stores at CF Richmond Centre, Tsawwassen Mills, Coquitlam Centre, Guildford Town Centre in Surrey, and Willowbrook Shopping Centre in Langley.
In Fall 2025, Uniqlo also opened its first Vancouver Island store at Mayfair Shopping Centre near Downtown Victoria.
Uniqlo previously told Daily Hive Urbanized that it had been searching for an attractive, centrally located retail space for a Downtown Vancouver flagship since it began expanding into Canada. Difficulty finding the right space delayed those plans, with the chain subsequently focusing on opening suburban locations, but Nordstrom’s departure created new opportunities for Uniqlo and other retailers.
