A winning $1 million Lotto Max ticket bought in Metro Vancouver has yet to be claimed and will soon expire, and the BCLC wants the winner to come forward before it’s too late.

The ticket was purchased in Surrey for the May 21, 2024, draw.

According to a release from BCLC, players can check their tickets at any BCLC lottery retailer in the province as well as anytime online or on the BCLC Lotto! App.

All lotto winners have 52 weeks from the draw date printed on the ticket to claim their prize, so the winning ticket will expire on May 21, 2025.

The lottery winner’s name and the specific retail location where the winning lotto ticket was bought will be released after the winner has come forward, according to BCLC.

The Lotto Max winning seven numbers from the May 21 draw are: 01, 04, 06, 07, 34, 40 and 46, with a bonus number of 02.

Shelley Wong from BC Lottery Corporation (BCLC) Media Relations previously told Daily Hive that only a small percentage of lottery wins go unclaimed each year.

“Most unclaimed prizes are for a small amount, such as a few dollars. It is extremely rare for major prizes of $10,000 or more to go unclaimed,” Wong said.

“When a winning ticket for a prize of $500,000 and above is set to expire, BCLC works to raise awareness through social media and media outreach to help remind players to check their tickets in the hopes of finding the winner.”
