Two Transit police officers convicted of assault

Dec 19 2017, 11:25 pm

Two Transit Police officers who used excessive force against a SkyTrain customer have been convicted of assault, but acquitted of other charges including public mischief, breach of trust and fabricating evidence.

Alfred Wong and Bruce Shipley pepper-sprayed now-29-year old Jordan Dyck at the Granville station in February of 2012.

He says he only cared about them getting convicted of assault and he wasn’t expecting anything else.

He’s not saying if he plans to sue the officers, but he’s pleased the judge backed him up.

Shipley and Wong will be sentenced at a later date.
