Two Dudes, One Camera: The Bump

Two dudes continue their quest to seek out fun and interesting adventures to do throughout the realm of Vancouver one flip flop at a time.

Last time out for the pilot episode of Two Dudes, One Camera, VanCityBuzz.com’s Trevor Dueck and Jeremy Brand, hurled themselves head first down a big ice slide at the Whistler Sliding Center.

For this episode, the two bros from Bro-hamm, decided to tap into their inner professional wrestling nerd. There are still a lot of people who enjoy the soap opera of wrasslin’. There are fans of the yesteryear who remember cheering for the likes of Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, The Rock and Bret Hart to name a few. Today John Cena, Daniel Bryan, Brock Lensar and CM Punk entertain the masses. Yes it’s sports entertainment but don’t be that guy or gal that says, “You know it’s fake right?” Yes everyone is quite aware thanks.

The dudes were told to check out a local promotion called ECCW – Elite Canadian Championship Wrestling. Apparently they have been packing halls around the province, including a sold out “Ballroom Brawl” at the Commodore Ballroom back in January. Scotty Mac, who is an owner and performer, invited Trevor and Jeremy to his wrestling school in Surrey before they attended ECCW’s “Seek and Destroy” at the Russian Community Centre in Vancouver back on April 12.

So what transpired as these two jabronis participated in pro-wrestling training before getting an up close and personal view of an independent wrestling show? We bring to you some hard hitting and investigative reporting with episode deux of Two Dudes, One Camera: The Bump.

Make sure to check out ECCW.com for their schedule. They have an anniversary show coming on May 3 where WWE veteran Val Venis will be making an appearance. Also big news was recently announced that ECCW will be returning to the Commodore Ballroom for “Ballroom Brawl 2 – TLC” set to take place on July 12. Find them on Twitter @ECCW and of course their Facebook page.

Thank you to Scotty Mac and all the fine people at Elite Canadian Championship Wrestling for giving Trev and Jer some great access and allowing them to take in the great entertainment that is local independent pro-wrestling.

Major thanks go out to honorary dude and photographer Nelson Yeo for his kick ass photos. Also Terry Wilson who helps with royalty free music and created the Atari sounding intro song.
