Vancouver's newest workout studio, TurF, has a menu made for champions

TurF fitness studio in Kitsilano has finally opened its doors, and it’s probably one of the prettiest places to get sweaty we’ve ever seen.

But this 4th Avenue space isn’t just a place to work off that late night donair; once you step in you quickly realize it’s a multi-purpose place to reset, refocus, refuel, and just simply hang out if you wish.

The modern and light decor is welcoming and you can grasp communal atmosphere from your first glance at the family-style long centre table and open-concept floor plan.

Altogether, TurF includes a workout studio, a retail shop, a full service mostly-vegan kitchen currently serving breakfast and lunch, and a coffee bar, all seamlessly placed in one building.

TurF offers classes that focus on strength, cardio, boxing, and yoga to name a few – the idea here is to work hard in the studio and then hit the eatery just as hard afterwards.

The culinary team has made every dish a no-brainer in terms of health and wellness, making it easy to grab whatever you need whether you’re on the go after a class or just popping in for a leisurely bite.

TurF has teamed up with The Juice Truck to create custom flavours of cold-pressed goodness made exclusively for the studio (available soon). The to-go offerings also include TurF Granola, pre-made salads, and small snacks.

This spot has a selection of original smoothies with boosters such as Ashwagandha, Maca, Bee Pollen, and Spirulina, along with a variety of caffienated beverages such as Moja Coffee, teas, and Hoochy ‘Booch kombucha.

For grub, TurF has a primarily plant-based menu that will vary depending on what is in season.

A selection of toasts (made with Bigsby the Bakehouse bread), salads, bowls, sides, and midday eats will be available all year round with the option to add “Happy Protein” – AKA humanely sourced eggs, pork sausage, wild salmon, and Uncle Tuffy’s Bison Balls.

You wont find anything processed in the ingredients used here, TurF emphasizes organic and farm fresh in their dishes.

For baked goods, almost the all of TurF’s selections are gluten free, including items like the Après Bar, a Breakfast Cookie, and  To Die For Banana Bread to name a few.

There is also a dessert portion on the menu with Seasonal Crisp, The Best Brownie, and The Flourless Chocolate Cake up for order.

The space also has a patio which will surely be filled to capacity come spring and summer, especially considering that by the beginning of April TurF will have obtained a liquor license allowing them to serve a fantastic selection of BC wines, craft beers and ciders, and even bubbles.

Please note that hot food service ends at 5 pm daily. Grab and go, drinks, smoothies and dessert are served until close daily for now.

TurF is open Monday to Friday from 6:30 am to 8 pm, and weekends from 7 am to 7 pm.
