The developers behind Trump International Hotel & Tower Vancouver have won seven awards at the 2017 Americas Property Awards.

According to a release, Holborn and TA Global’s controversial Trump-branded property secured seven awards, including being selected as the five-star winner for four best categories to represent Canada in the International Property Awards held in London next month.

The seven awards are:

  • Development Marketing
  • Residential High-rise Architecture
  • Mix-use Development
  • Best Hotel Architecture
  • Best Hotel Interior
  • Best New Hotel Construction & Design
  • Best Residential High-rise Development

The tower, the second tallest building in Vancouver with a height of 616 ft, opened earlier this year in February. Its design is based on a concept created by late Vancouver architect Arthur Erickson.

“My vision is to build Trump Vancouver as a new symbol for Vancouver that echoes the city as an international gateway city,” said Joo Kim Tiah, Principal of Holborn, the developer of Trump International Hotel & Tower Vancouver, in a statement.

“I am so thrilled this has been implemented perfectly and industry experts from all around the world have recognized the beauty of this building. Beauty is a universal language, and it speaks for itself.”

According to the developer, the tower’s 214 residential condo units sold out at a record high average price of $1,610 per sq. ft., and the hotel property’s 147 rooms have seen 200,000 guests since opening.

While the building is named after the Trump Organization, the Trump family does not own it, but it operates the hotel portion and its amenities as part of a business deal with Holborn.
