A driver with TransLink’s HandyDART services who works out of Richmond has tested positive for coronavirus, the company announced on Friday.

The employee’s workspace and vehicle have been “thoroughly cleaned and disinfected,” TransLink said in a statement. “Public Health officials have given no indication that there is an elevated risk to the public at this time.”

TransLink said the affected employee “has our full support and we wish them a speedy recovery.”

Citing provincial privacy laws, the company said that the decision to disclose any further details on this case would be a matter for the Provincial Health Officer.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that two employees with TransLink’s bus services also tested positive for coronavirus.

In a release, the public transit authority said one employee works out of Burnaby Transit Centre, while the other employee works out of Port Coquitlam Transit Centre.
