These are the top 5 travel experiences Canadians want in 2017

Despite the fact that Lonely Planet named Canada as the #1 travel destination in the world for 2017, not all of us are content to stay in our own backyard for the entire year.

And youth travel operator Contiki agrees. Which is why they asked more than 1,000 Canadians between the ages of 18-35 (and 5,000 people worldwide) where they’d most like to travel to in 2017. And the top experiences reflect some ambitious travellers.

Also included in the survey were the reasons behind Canadian millennials desire to travel, with the strongest motivator turning out to be the desire to learn about new cultures. However, 75.5% of respondents “indicated that social experiences were the most valuable, ahead of cultural, culinary, intellectual, adrenaline and spiritual.”

Regardless of our reasons, though, it’s clear that Canadians love to get out and see the world. And in 2017, here are the top five places we’d most like to be travelling to.
