There’s never a shortage of good Twitter content but at the end of the year, who reigns supreme?
On Tuesday morning, in annual fashion, the social media network shared the top Canadian accounts for 2020 in a number of categories.
“In past years, we have used our blog each December to share rankings of the Canadian Twitter accounts with the most mentions across categories such as film & television, music and sports,” writes Paul Burns, Managing Director of Twitter Canada in a blog post.
This year, the Twitter Canada team took it a step further by highlighting the top five accounts in each individual category. They also recognized five Canadian accounts from the public health sphere.
“These are accounts that gave Canadians the latest real-time COVID-19 content and emerged as key accounts to follow as a nation adjusted to the various stages of the pandemic,” Burns says.

Hello. We'd like to address something: mandatory masks were NOT ordered by the cashier at your grocery store. We understand some of you are upset, but please direct your feedback towards us & not at businesses/employees. Like masks, civility & respect are needed in public places.
