As we all know, summer is coming to an end quickly. School is back, the sun is setting earlier each day, the leaves are falling and the number of days with sunshine are growing fewer. We’ve kept you updated with a ton of fun activities throughout the summer and now it’s time for our summer ‘bucket list’. While time is limited, there is a few more weeks left to indulge in some last minute summer fun.
TOP 10 THINGS TO DO BEFORE SUMMER ENDS
1. Summer Hiking
Vancouver and the surrounding area has several really nice hikes to offer, and it’s not just the Grouse Grind. Check out this list of hikes in the Vancouver area that we compiled for you earlier this summer.
2. Berry Picking

5. Playland
While the summer concert series at the PNE has come to an end, PlayLand Amusement Park is still open on weekends from September 7 to 22. For more information, visit their website here.
6. Beach Days
Act quickly! There may still be a few good days to catch some rays at one of Vancouver’s beautiful beaches. We made a guide for you compiling our favourite beaches earlier this summer.
7. Night Markets
The Lower Mainland has a few Chinese Night Markets to offer and they are only running on weekends for a short while longer. We’ve conveniently listed all 4 and their details in our summer events guide.
8. Farmers’ Markets

9. BBQ Parties
There’s no better time than summer to take advantage of your friends with BBQ’s (haha), or for that matter throw your own BBQ! Something about barbecued food just tastes better in the sun on a deck.
10. Food Cart Fest
Every Sunday until September 22, you can go fill yourself up at Food Cart Fest – an annual gathering of over 20 of Vancouver’s finest Food Trucks. Oh and we have a guide for that too.
