Tyler Toffoli is a man of his word.
The 32-year-old San Jose Sharks winger got looped into a bet with two of his youngest teammates, Macklin Celebrini and Will Smith, and it resulted in him having to have a sleepover with them.
The Sharks were able to pick up a 6-2 win versus the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday, a game in which Toffoli, Celebrini, and Smith all found the back of the net. As it turns out, Smith made a bet the night prior that if all three scored, Toffoli had to spend a night in their hotel room.
Despite being over a decade older than both, Toffoli obliged.

Toffoli uploaded a picture of himself in Celebrini and Smith’s room, where he appears to be lying down on a cot, while his 18-and-19-year-old teammates were posted up in their regular beds. “Bet is a bet,” Smith commented on Toffoli’s post.
The funny situation didn’t stop there, as Toffoli’s wife, Cat, took to X to share their hilarious exchange of text messages that helped fans give a better understanding of the entire ordeal.

“I gotta have a sleepover with Will and Mack tonight lol,” Toffoli first text her after the game had wrapped up.
Despite the texts, Cat clearly thought he was kidding. After Toffoli uploaded the picture to Instagram, she commented, “I literally thought you were joking.”
Toffoli’s first season with the Sharks seems to be full of surprises, not only for fans, but his wife too. Given the four-year contract he agreed to this offseason, it looks like he’ll finally be able to put down some roots. Since entering the NHL in 2012-13, he’s spent time with the LA Kings, Vancouver Canucks, Montreal Canadiens, Calgary Flames, New Jersey Devils, and Winnipeg Jets.
