The mobile services company was designed to help give customers peace of mind when it comes to their most important belongings.

“Tile is meant to help customers keep track of all the things that matter to them – whether we are saving our customers 10 minutes in the morning looking for their keys, or wallets or helping reunite our customers with their backpacks, laptops, bikes, or lost stuffed animals,” said Bryan Rodrigues, Tile’s VP of Marketing.

This will be Tile’s first major office opening outside of its HQ in San Mateo, California, with plans for continued market expansion in both Europe and Asia.

“With the launch of our new office, we expect to accelerate the pace of innovation and our leadership in the market,” said CJ Prober, Tile’s CEO. “It’s no secret that Canada is booming as a global tech hub, so expanding here aligns perfectly with our plan to add more Tile-embedded partners and app-based solutions.”

According to Rodrigues, Vancouver is a strategic growth location for the company.

“With Vancouver being such a great emerging tech hub, the breadth of talent that we can tap into in Vancouver just makes a lot of sense,” he said.

Canada is one of Tile’s leading markets, where it has seen a 135% sales increase over the past two years and 110% retail footprint growth over the past three years.

Tile has also offered their services through a number of partner products that have their technology embedded directly into them.

Tile continues its flagship partner relationship with Vancouver-based Herschel Supply Co., who have worked with Tile to create a collection of wallets and accessories that come fitted with Tile’s devices.

In addition to the launch of their headquarters, Tile will expand further into the Canadian retail space with their products now available at Costco, Best Buy, and other major retailers. Tile will continue to build their engineering team in Vancouver, as well as expand globally, throughout 2019.
